Aigul Imanbayeva Recounts Struggles After Divorce at 22

Renowned actress Aigul Imanbayeva has opened up about one of the most challenging periods of her life: her first divorce and the subsequent difficulties she faced as a young mother.

Imanbayeva candidly shared the struggles she encountered after ending her first marriage at the age of 22. She returned to her mother's home with her infant child، aged only six to seven months، an experience that profoundly altered her perspective on life.

Navigating Hardship and Pride

Despite a childhood free from financial worries، with her mother working as an accountant to support the family، Imanbayeva recalled the scarcity of the 1990s، even having to ration sweets. The dissolution of her first marriage marked the most significant trial of her life.

"Pride nearly destroyed me،" Imanbayeva stated. "To avoid hearing whispers like، 'Gulsim's daughter is divorced. She's returned with her child،' I moved to Almaty and worked in four or five different places. That's when I truly understood what it meant to have nothing."

Lessons Learned Through Adversity

Aigul Imanbayeva emphasized her determination to overcome these difficulties independently. Juggling multiple jobs simultaneously taught her a profound sense of responsibility and the true value of having and lacking.

"I thought I wouldn't stray، but I did. However، through that wandering، I found my own path،" she reflected. "I overcame the hardship. It was only then that I truly understood the value of hunger and fullness، of abundance and scarcity."
