A quarantine has been declared in several rural districts of the Kurmangazy district in the Atyrau region following the identification of infectious rhinotracheitis among cattle. Veterinary controls have been significantly strengthened in the affected areas.

Disease Confirmed in Multiple Settlements

The infectious disease، known as bovine rhinotracheitis، was confirmed in the villages of Dinghizyl، Bokeykhan، Enbekshi، and Kurmangazy. As a precautionary measure، the movement of livestock out of these designated zones has been temporarily prohibited.

Disease Status and Treatment Efforts

Currently، 1،407 head of cattle have been diagnosed with the infection. Over a thousand of these animals have already received treatment and recovered. Ongoing medical interventions are being provided to the remaining affected livestock، while healthy animals are receiving preventive vaccinations.

Restrictions and Prevention Measures

According to Sairan Gudan، head of a department at the Regional Agricultural Directorate، restrictions have been placed on the sale of cattle meat and the issuance of veterinary certificates within the quarantined villages. Officials noted that an increase in livestock transportation from the Russian Federation has heightened the risk of disease transmission.

Risk to Human Health

Veterinarians have emphasized that infectious rhinotracheitis primarily affects animals and that human transmission is extremely rare. No cases of the disease have been reported among the human population in the affected areas.

Additional Cases and Quarantine Duration

In a related development، approximately 70 cows were found to be ill in the village of Zineden، located in the Isatay district، which borders the Kurmangazy district. Veterinary measures have been completed in this area، and quarantine restrictions will be lifted 30 days after all livestock have fully recovered.
