A former top executive at the prominent Chinese gaming company Yoozoo Games has been sentenced to death for poisoning his boss، gaming magnate Lin Qi. Lin Qi was also known as a producer for the popular Netflix series "The Three-Body Problem." The sentence was carried out on May 21st.

Motive Behind the Murder

Investigations revealed that the crime stemmed from a dispute over company management. Shortly before his death، Lin Qi had reduced Xu Yao's salary and excluded him from the production of the series. Driven by a desire for revenge، Xu Yao then added a toxic substance to his colleague's food and drinks.

Consequences of the Crime

Lin Qi، aged 39، passed away in a hospital in December 2020. Following the incident، four other employees were hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning.

Lin Qi's Business Legacy

Lin Qi founded Yoozoo Games in 2009. The company is known for producing popular online games such as League of Angels، Drakensang Online، and Game of Thrones: Winter Is Coming. His net worth was estimated at approximately $941 million.

'The Three-Body Problem' Series

The acclaimed series is based on the novel by Chinese science fiction author Liu Cixin. Released on Netflix in 2024، the show quickly became one of the platform's most popular projects. Lin Qi served as an executive producer on this project at the time of his death.
