Data from Kurs.kz indicates that the average dollar exchange rate at exchange offices in Astana and Almaty reflects this upward trend، though specific rates vary.

Previous Tenge Performance

In its previous assessment، the National Bank noted that the tenge had strengthened by 0.7% in February، reaching 497.69 tenge. During that month، average daily trading volumes on the stock exchange ranged between $306 million and $335 million، with total trading volume amounting to $6.7 billion.

Monetary Policy Stance

Earlier، on January 23rd، the National Bank decided to maintain the base interest rate at 18%. According to National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov، this rate is expected to remain unchanged for the next six months to curb inflationary pressures. However، the bank has stated its readiness to further tighten monetary policy if these measures prove insufficient.
