A disturbing incident has gripped Shymkent after four people were discovered dead within a single apartment building in the student dormitory area. Authorities have launched a criminal investigation into the matter، with preliminary findings pointing towards potential gas poisoning as the cause.

Tragic Discoveries Unfold

The grim discovery was made in a multi-story building within the student residential complex. According to neighbors، the first victims found were a 31-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl in one apartment. Shortly after، a 23-year-old man was found deceased in a second-floor apartment. The final victim، a 20-year-old female student، was discovered in a rented apartment on the third floor by the landlord، who found her in the bathtub.

Concerns Over Gas Leaks

Residents reported having previously complained about a gas odor emanating from the building. However، an official statement from gas service specialists is still pending. The police have initiated a criminal case under the article concerning causing death due to negligence in providing services.

A witness، Islam Fayzullaev، described the scene: "They found the first girl around midnight. When the landlord arrived، he saw the bathroom door was locked from the inside. Upon opening it، they found the girl who lived in the apartment deceased in the bathtub. Then، the local police were called. They started evacuating everyone from the building. After rescuers arrived، they opened other doors and found more bodies."
