Iran Health Ministry Updates on Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei's Condition

Iran's Health Ministry has provided an update on the health status of the nation's Supreme Leader، Mojtaba Khamenei، who was injured in an attack in March. The spokesperson for the ministry، Hossein Kermanpour، addressed concerns regarding the severity of his injuries.

Assessing the Injury Severity

Kermanpour stated that the injuries sustained by Khamenei did not result in any disfigurement or lasting impact on his physical appearance. "The Supreme Leader's injuries were not so severe as to cause disfigurement or affect his overall outward appearance،" Kermanpour was quoted as saying by IRNA.

Addressing Misinformation

Countering rumors circulating from Western sources، Kermanpour emphasized that the injuries did not necessitate any amputations or lead to permanent disability. This clarification aims to dispel false information regarding Khamenei's condition.

Signs of Improvement

Earlier reports from Mazaaher Hosseini، head of the protocol service for the Supreme Leader's office، indicated that Mojtaba Khamenei's condition was improving. His injuries included wounds to his back and knee، as well as a ruptured injury behind his ear.

New Leader's Public Presence

Mojtaba Khamenei assumed the role of Supreme Leader following the death of his father، Ali Khamenei، on February 28، after alleged strikes by the US and Israel. Since his election to the top leadership position on March 9، he has not made a public appearance. However، his office has released several statements attributed to him، which have been broadcast on television or distributed in print.
