Official sources stated that Iran's spiritual leader passed away on February 28th after an attack on his Tehran residence. A week of national mourning was declared، with funeral and farewell ceremonies planned. However، these events were unexpectedly postponed indefinitely، sparking widespread suspicion and speculation.

The Basis for Conspiracy Theories

Proponents of these theories cite several reasons. They suggest that the primary objective of the United States and Israel was to eliminate the Iranian leader. Therefore، it's speculated that his supporters may have moved Khamenei to a secure location and deliberately disseminated false information about his death.

Furthermore، the delay in announcing the election process for a new Supreme Leader has also raised doubts. According to Iranian law، the Assembly of Experts، comprising 88 religious scholars، is responsible for electing the successor. While some reports have suggested Khamenei's son، Mojtaba Khamenei، could take over، this has not been officially confirmed.

Influence of Religious Beliefs

Religious scholars note that the concept of the 'hidden Imam' in Shia Islam might contribute to the spread of such theories. This belief posits that Muhammad al-Mahdi، who disappeared in the 9th century، is not dead but will return at a specific time to establish justice.
