Kazakhmys Corporation Joins National 'Clean Kazakhstan' Environmental Initiative
A nationwide environmental campaign، 'Clean Kazakhstan،' aimed at improving the ecological situation across the country، has officially begun. The Kazakhmys Corporation has embraced this initiative، launching a series of clean-up events in the regions where it operates. The campaign is set to run throughout April and May.
Regional Beautification Efforts
Kazakhmys Corporation places significant emphasis not only on maintaining cleanliness within its industrial sites but also on the greening and beautification of surrounding towns and settlements. As part of the 'Clean Kazakhstan' campaign، company employees are actively engaged in cleaning streets، adjacent territories، and public spaces.
Large-Scale Clean-Up Events
Between April 2nd and 4th، extensive clean-up events were organized in the cities of Zhezkazgan، Karaganda، Satbayev، and Balkhash. More than 1،100 employees from various Kazakhmys entities، including Kazakhmys Smelting، Kazakhmys Maintenance Services، KLMZ، Kazakhmys Barlau، affiliated colleges، ZhezAir، and the Zhezkazgan Medical Center، participated in these efforts. Approximately 100 units of special equipment were mobilized، resulting in the removal of nearly 95 tons of waste.
During these clean-up drives، areas surrounding industrial zones and roadsides were cleared of debris. Additionally، preparatory work for landscaping and tree planting، including soil preparation، was undertaken. The efficient removal of large-volume waste was facilitated by the use of specialized machinery.
Integral Part of Environmental Policy
Participation in the 'Clean Kazakhstan' campaign is a crucial component of Kazakhmys Corporation's ongoing environmental policy. These regularly organized clean-up events are designed not only to maintain cleanliness but also to foster a greater sense of responsibility towards the environment among employees and the wider community.
