Kazakhstan Digitizes Key Services: Passports، Licenses، and More Online
Kazakhstan is embracing a new era of digital governance، with essential documents such as passports، electronic digital signatures (EDS)، and driver's licenses now exclusively available through online applications. This significant shift aims to streamline public services and save citizens valuable time.
Digital Transformation of Public Services
Initiated by government bodies، this move sees a range of crucial services fully digitized، eliminating the need for citizens to visit Public Service Centers (PSCs) for many applications. The goal is to simplify and accelerate the process of obtaining government documents.
Expanding Online Service Offerings
The list of digitized services continues to grow. By the end of 2025، several key procedures will be moved online. These include the registration of real estate، the formation of Individual Identification Numbers (IIN) for foreign citizens، the issuance of work permits for labor migrants، and the processing of cadastral passports. These advancements are designed to reduce administrative hurdles and speed up service delivery.
Geology Sector Goes Digital
Looking ahead، the National Geological Service JSC plans to transition its operations entirely to a digital format by 2026. Already، a substantial 83% of materials accumulated over 80 years، amounting to over 3.8 million geological data points، have been digitized. This figure is projected to reach 97.5% next year، marking the completion of the digital overhaul.
As part of this project، a Big Data system powered by artificial intelligence will be implemented. This system will accelerate the analysis of geological materials and expedite the processing of historical data. It will also integrate with a unified platform for subsoil users. Furthermore، work has begun on digitizing the unified state cadaster of subsoil resources. This initiative aims to enhance the transparency and management of the country's mineral and raw material base.
By creating geological maps in digital format and integrating them into the unified subsoil use platform، accessibility and relevance of data will be ensured for all stakeholders in the sector. This comprehensive digitization effort will boost the efficiency of the National Geological Service and provide investors and government bodies with a modern tool for managing the mineral and raw material base.
