Religious Figure Calls for Burial Outside Muslim Cemetery for Singer Sayat Medeuov

A notable religious figure، known online by the nickname 'Khalid'، has publicly stated that singer Sayat Medeuov should not be interred in a Muslim cemetery. This declaration follows Medeuov's recent interview on the QazaqAiran channel، where he expressed strong opinions about religion and religious followers.

Criticism of Medeuov's Statements

In his interview، Medeuov suggested that certain individuals misleading the public with religious rhetoric should face legal consequences. These remarks did not sit well with religious leader Khalid.

Khalid stated، "This person is expressing his beliefs، which is fine. We live in a secular society. But he is saying، 'Your religion is false، your prophet is nothing. You Muslims are Arab slaves.' Now، it is the duty of our Muslims to ask him، 'Should we bury you in the Muslim way when you die؟' This person should also say now، 'Do not bury me in the Muslim way when I die.'"

Addressing Hypocrisy

According to Khalid، prominent figures like Asanali Ashimov and Marat Osmanov، despite expressing strong views on religion، were buried in Muslim cemeteries after their deaths. Khalid questioned the necessity of honoring such individuals after death.

"Why bury them respectfully after they die؟ They do not believe in Allah، they do not believe that the Prophet will intercede for them. Therefore، hypocrisy must end. If this were an ordinary person in this situation now، people would say، 'He shouldn't be buried،' 'He's a Tengrist،' and so on. This person is the same،" Khalid added.

He further emphasized that singers and actors are not highly regarded in Islam، and therefore، there is no need to bury them in Muslim cemeteries.

This development highlights ongoing discussions and differing interpretations of religious and societal norms within Kazakhstan.
