Renowned singer Tokhtar Serikov has spoken out in defense of comedian Tursynbek Kabatov، urging the public to show understanding and support during a recent personal concert.

Serikov addressed the controversies surrounding his friend، calling for calm and reflection among the public. He highlighted a perceived tendency within Kazakh society to build up admired figures، only to later engage in gossip and then attempt to defend them.

A Call for Healing

"I understand that such talk may be uncomfortable for some people. We love them، then we make them the subject of gossip. We wound them. And when the blood flows from the wound، we recognize them again and try to heal them،" Serikov stated. He metaphorically urged the audience، "Heal the wounds of the great bird that you yourselves have injured."

The singer also touched upon personal criticism he has faced، noting، "They write about me too، leaving no stone unturned: 'He constantly praises his wife.' She is the only wife I have، what else can I do؟ Let's tell each other we are good people while we are alive، not after we are gone."

Online reactions to Serikov's statements have been mixed. Many users expressed support for his words، viewing them as wise and compassionate. However، others maintain that Kabatov's actions were not justifiable and that Serikov's defense does not excuse the behavior.
