12-Year-Old's Death in Ridder Sparks Investigation into School Bullying Allegations

A tragic incident in Ridder, East Kazakhstan region, has sent shockwaves through the community following the death of 12-year-old Artem Fominykh. His family alleges that severe bullying and extortion at school led to the devastating outcome.

Artem was found deceased on May 6th. His relatives are convinced that the pressure and intimidation he faced at school were the direct cause of his death.

Allegations of Schoolyard Torment

According to Artem's family, the young student had been subjected to mistreatment at school. He had left his home on the morning of May 5th, and his family claims he was being beaten and extorted for money by peers. After learning about the situation, his parents reportedly approached the school administration.

"Everything was quiet for a while, but then Artem started refusing to go to school. A school inspector came and started scolding Artem. He told the child, 'Gather your things with your brothers and go to the RATS [likely referring to a specific department or service].' Artem started crying and ran away from home. He didn't go to school the next morning. And today, we found him hanging," a family member recounted, visibly distressed.

Official Investigation Underway

The Department of Education for the East Kazakhstan region has confirmed that an investigation is underway to ascertain the facts surrounding Artem's death. However, at this stage, the allegations of bullying have not been officially confirmed.

"All necessary investigative actions are currently being carried out to conduct a full, objective, and comprehensive examination of the circumstances of the incident. At the present time, other information is not being disclosed in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan," stated the press service of the East Kazakhstan Regional Police Department.

The family of the deceased is determined to find those responsible for Artem's death. They also noted that the boy was unable to tie the noose himself with a sea knot, suggesting external involvement.
