Aktau: Investigation Reopened into Medical College Graduate's Mysterious Death

The investigation into the death of 24-year-old medical college graduate Marzhan Sultangaliyeva in Aktau has been reopened, according to reports.

The city prosecutor's office has overturned the Aktau City Police Department's decision to close the criminal case, issuing new directives for the ongoing investigation. This development was announced by Azhar Kartbay, a representative for the victim's family and a member of the Mangystau Regional Chamber of Lawyers.

Sultangaliyeva's body was discovered in an apartment in Aktau on January 1st. Initially, police classified the incident as a suicide.

However, the deceased's relatives have expressed strong doubts about this conclusion, asserting that she would not have taken her own life. The victim's mother had previously raised concerns about the timeliness of the investigation, including medical examinations, and the premature closure of the case before all questions were adequately addressed.
