Almaty Opens "Kúnshýaq" Summer Camp for Children in Medeu District
Almaty is offering a vibrant summer experience for its young residents with the opening of the "Künshuaq" summer camp. Located at Schoolchildren's Palace No. 5 in the Medeu district, this new initiative provides a safe and engaging environment for children to spend their school holidays productively.
A Hub for Development and Fun
The "Künshuaq" camp, situated at 17/1 Orenburg Street, aims to make summer breaks both enjoyable and beneficial. The opening ceremony was attended by children, parents, and education professionals, highlighting the community's enthusiasm for this new resource.
Nazym Sarsebaeva, a methodologist from the Medeu District Education Department, emphasized the importance of quality holiday programs. "Summer is a time for rest, new experiences, and opportunities. I wish for children to spend their holidays effectively, gather energy for the upcoming academic year, discover their talents, and conquer new heights," she stated.
Sairagul Shagataeva, the director of Schoolchildren's Palace No. 5, confirmed that an engaging program has been prepared, with lessons led by 20 professional educators. "We have strived to create conditions for every child to have an interesting and useful holiday. Teachers will help children discover their abilities, learn new things, and gain vivid impressions from their summer break," Shagataeva added.
Support for Working Parents
The launch of the summer camp is a welcome development for parents, particularly those who work during the holidays. Having a safe, supervised, and enriching environment close to home provides peace of mind and ensures children remain engaged in constructive activities.
A Celebration of Childhood
Notably, the camp's first day coincided with International Children's Day, turning the opening into a festive occasion for the children. "We timed the opening of the summer camp with Children's Day," announced the organizers.
Creative Workshops and Engaging Activities
Among the day's highlights was a masterclass on creating artistic roses from thread and fabric, led by applied arts teacher Zhuldyzai Kasen. Children enthusiastically learned new techniques and created their own masterpieces.
"Such classes develop fine motor skills, creative thinking, and bring joy to children through their achievements. We plan to hold an exhibition of the children's work in the future," Kasen shared.
Erkin Mukhamedamin, one of the new attendees, chose the chess club. "I found chess interesting because it's not just a game, but a way to develop thinking. Here, we learn to think through every move, play against time, analyze situations, and make decisions. For me, this is an opportunity to develop perseverance, attention, and strategic thinking," he explained.
Throughout the summer holidays, "Künshuaq" campers can look forward to sports games, creative workshops, educational classes, excursions, and other developmental activities. Organizers anticipate the project will become a place where students in the Medeu district not only relax but also gain new knowledge, skills, and friendships.
This initiative is reported by the Infohub.kz information agency.
