Astana Braces for Cold Snap: Temperatures to Plummet After Warm Spell

Astana is set to experience a dramatic shift in weather as a cold snap returns, following a recent period of warmer temperatures. Residents can expect the mercury to drop significantly, with nighttime temperatures potentially reaching as low as -6°C.

Weather Shift Details

Just days after enjoying daytime temperatures hovering around +1°C to +3°C, the capital city is bracing for a sharp decline. By the end of the week, nighttime temperatures are forecast to fall to -6°C, with daytime highs only reaching +2°C to +3°C. This cooling trend is expected to continue in the following days.

Precipitation and Wind Forecast

The upcoming days are predicted to be mostly cloudy with intermittent sunny spells. No snowfall is expected. Wind speeds are anticipated to range from 1-3 meters per second, occasionally gusting up to 5 meters per second.

Return of Spring Frost

This return of early spring frost is attributed to a significant and rapid change in atmospheric conditions. The recent brief warm spell is giving way to a more typical, albeit unseasonably cold, late-winter pattern.
