The US dollar's exchange rate edged closer to the 500 tenge mark over the weekend in major cities across Kazakhstan. This fluctuation in currency values is drawing attention from residents and businesses alike.

Exchange Rates in Astana

In the capital city of Astana, exchange offices were buying US dollars at approximately 492 tenge and selling them for around 499 tenge. The Euro was being purchased at 568.90 tenge and sold at 579 tenge. The Russian ruble saw transactions at 6.15 tenge for buying and 6.45 tenge for selling.

Almaty's Currency Market

Almaty, the country's financial hub, presented a slightly different picture. Here, the dollar was bought at 492.94 tenge and sold at 495.36 tenge. The Euro's rate stood at 571.62 tenge for buying and 577.10 tenge for selling, while the ruble traded between 6.24 and 6.36 tenge.

Shymkent's Exchange Rates

In Shymkent, the US dollar could be purchased for 493 tenge and sold for 495.1 tenge. The Euro's value ranged from 571.29 tenge for buying to 577.40 tenge for selling. The Russian ruble was available for purchase between 6.25 and 6.33 tenge.

Official National Bank Rate

For the weekend period, the National Bank of Kazakhstan set the official exchange rate with one US dollar valued at 493.85 tenge. The Euro was officially set at 571.78 tenge, and the Russian ruble at 6.25 tenge.
