A Formal Welcome in the Kazakh Capital
The Akorda press service released images from the ceremonial reception at Astana International Airport. President Erdogan's aircraft was escorted by the Kazakh Air Defense Forces upon its approach. A special honor guard company was assembled to welcome the distinguished guest.
President Erdogan was accompanied by his wife. Children greeted the Turkish President and his delegation with the phrase, "Ata yurda hoş geldiniz!" – "Welcome to the ancestral land!" in both Turkish and Kazakh, as reported by the Akorda press service.
High-Level Delegation and Cultural Touches
Key figures from the Kazakh delegation included the Head of the Presidential Administration, Roman Sklyar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yerlan Koshanov. Following the initial greetings, helicopters carrying the flags of Turkey and Kazakhstan flew over the runway.
Inside the airport terminal, young musicians performed the traditional Kazakh 'Dombra' melody for the Turkish leader, adding a cultural element to the reception.
Focus on Bilateral Relations and Future Cooperation
The visit is expected to focus on the current state of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Turkey, as well as prospects for their future development. This meeting follows previous discussions about the sixth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council between the two nations.
