Ex-vice minister Kudaibergen Arymbek appointed to lead KazakhTurkMunai by KazMunayGas

KazMunayGas has appointed former Energy vice minister Kudaibergen Arymbek to lead its subsidiary KazakhTurkMunai, signaling a push to tighten production discipline and accelerate projects in western Kazakhstan.

Who was appointed

Arymbek, born in 1987 in the Mangystau Region, was introduced to the company’s workforce by Bekzat Abayildanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas. KazakhTurkMunai is one of the national company’s key production assets within its portfolio.

Career track

A graduate of the Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, Arymbek began his career in 2011 as a chief specialist at the Mangystau Regional Department of Entrepreneurship and Industry.

From 2012 to 2014, he worked at the Ministry of Oil and Gas, serving as an expert and lead expert in the State Inspectorate Committee for the oil and gas sector. Between 2014 and 2024, he held senior roles at the Ministry of Energy, including Director of the Department of State Control in hydrocarbons and subsoil use. In 2024–2025, Arymbek served as Vice Minister of Energy.
