A serious nighttime collision involving three vehicles in Karaganda has resulted in five people sustaining injuries and requiring hospitalization. The incident occurred in the early hours of April 5th, casting a shadow over the city's roads.

Collision Details Emerge

The accident took place in the 'Kok Rybalki' microdistrict. The vehicles involved were identified as a Cobalt, a BMW, and a Priora. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, transporting all five injured individuals to medical facilities. Details regarding the condition of those hospitalized have not yet been released.

Police Investigation Underway

A rapid response investigative team is currently on-site, working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the crash. Police are urging all drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and to avoid excessive speeding, emphasizing that road safety is a shared responsibility.

Increased Road Safety Measures

This incident occurs amidst heightened road safety efforts in the region. Over the past few days, extensive preventive raids have been intensified, involving district inspectors, patrol police, and National Guard personnel. According to Bagdat Kakimov, head of the administrative police department, the focus is primarily on prevention and awareness campaigns.

Despite these efforts, over 800 traffic violations were recorded in the region within a single day, with 70 deemed serious offenses. These included instances of driving under the influence, leading to the apprehension of three intoxicated drivers. Furthermore, cases of individuals driving after their licenses were revoked were also identified, with one 38-year-old man facing criminal charges.

Other violations noted during the raids included 22 instances of illegal window tinting, 8 cases of driving without a license, and 16 instances of driving without insurance. A total of 34 vehicles were impounded and sent to the penalty parking lot.
