Kazakh Military Commanders Dismissed After Soldier Assaulted
Several military commanders in a unit in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl region have been dismissed from their positions following a violent incident involving a soldier. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the disciplinary actions taken after a serviceman was assaulted by a colleague.
Soldier Suffers Facial Injury
The incident occurred at a military unit within the Gvardeysk garrison. A soldier was reportedly beaten by a fellow serviceman, resulting in a fractured jaw. The injured soldier was subsequently transported to the Military Clinical Hospital in Almaty for treatment.
Criminal Investigation Underway
In response to the assault, a criminal case has been initiated, and an investigation is currently in progress, according to the Ministry of Defense. The outcome of this investigation will determine further decisions.
Leadership Changes and Disciplinary Actions
As a result of the internal review, the unit commander, his deputy for educational and ideological work, a battalion commander, and a company commander have all been relieved of their duties. Additionally, several other leaders received official reprimands for failing to maintain proper conduct within their units. A number of officers and sergeants have also faced severe disciplinary measures.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that these measures underscore the principle of personal and absolute accountability, regardless of rank. Final decisions regarding the case will be made once the investigation is complete.
