In Astana, residents should prepare for snow, blizzards, and icy roads, particularly during the night and early morning. Wind gusts from the southwest could reach speeds of 15-20 m/s, with occasional bursts up to 23 m/s.

Shymkent will see precipitation in the form of rain and snow. The city can also expect icy conditions, occasional hail, and fog. Winds from the southwest to northeast are predicted to reach 15-20 m/s.

Northern Regions Face Deep Freeze

North Kazakhstan Oblast is bracing for temperatures to plummet to -12 to -17 degrees Celsius, with western parts of the region potentially reaching -20 degrees Celsius. By February 12, nighttime temperatures are forecast to drop further to -22 to -27 degrees Celsius, and as low as -30 degrees Celsius in the eastern areas. In Petropavlovsk, daytime and nighttime temperatures will hover around -14 to -16 degrees Celsius, dropping to -23 to -25 degrees Celsius on the night of February 12.

Western and Eastern Kazakhstan Weather

Mangystau Oblast is expected to experience icy roads, with Aktau also anticipating similar conditions.

East Kazakhstan Oblast is forecast to have precipitation (rain and snow), blizzards, and icy roads in the northern and eastern parts overnight. Daytime will bring precipitation, blizzards, and icy conditions, with heavy rain and snow expected in the northern and eastern areas. Oskemen will experience rain, snow, blizzards, and icy roads.

Central and Southern Kazakhstan Conditions

Ulytau Oblast will encounter snow, blizzards, and icy roads overnight and in the morning, with heavy snowfall in the northern, eastern, and southern parts. Winds from the southwest and west could reach 15-20 m/s, with gusts of 23-28 m/s in the northern and eastern sections. Zhezkazgan can expect snow, blizzards, and icy roads overnight.

In Kyzylorda Oblast, nighttime temperatures will range from -10 to -15 degrees Celsius, dropping to -7 degrees Celsius in the east, and daytime temperatures will be between -5 to -10 degrees Celsius, reaching -2 degrees Celsius in the east. Overnight, precipitation (mainly snow) and blizzards are expected in the central, southern, and eastern parts. Fog and icy conditions will affect the southern, northern, and central areas.

Turkistan Oblast will experience precipitation, icy roads, and low hail. Heavy rainfall and snowfall are anticipated in the western, southern, and mountainous areas. Fog is also expected in the western, northern, and mountainous regions. Turkistan city will see precipitation, with heavy rain and snow expected overnight, along with occasional fog and icy conditions.

Pavlodar Oblast will see temperatures drop to -5 to -10 degrees Celsius during the day and night, reaching -2 degrees Celsius in the east. On February 12, nighttime temperatures could fall to -20 to -25 degrees Celsius, and -28 degrees Celsius in the eastern part. Precipitation (snow and rain), blizzards, and icy roads are expected, with heavy rain and snow possible in the southern and eastern parts in the morning and daytime. Fog is also forecast for the northern, southern, and eastern sections. Pavlodar city will have snow, rain, blizzards, and icy roads, with temperatures between -5 to -7 degrees Celsius, dropping to -20 to -22 degrees Celsius on the night of February 12.

In Taraz, temperatures will be between +1 to +3 degrees Celsius, with heavy rain and snow expected during the day, along with occasional fog and icy conditions.

Kostanay Oblast will experience snow and blizzards overnight and in the morning. Fog is expected in the northern and western parts. Winds from the southwest to northwest will reach 15-20 m/s overnight, and 15-20 m/s in the southern and eastern parts during the day. Kostanay city will have snow and blizzards overnight.

West Kazakhstan Oblast may experience fog in its western, northern, and eastern parts. Oral will have fog during the night and morning.

Almaty Oblast anticipates wind gusts of 18-23 m/s in the northern, southern, and mountainous areas. In Konaev, wind gusts may reach 18 m/s at times.
