Kazakhstan Referendum: Mangystau Residents' 'No' Votes Revealed
The number of residents in the Mangystau region who cast a 'no' vote against the proposed amendments to Kazakhstan's Constitution has been revealed. Preliminary findings from the Central Election Commission shed light on the regional sentiment during the pivotal referendum.
Referendum Participation Nationwide
Across the country, 9,127,192 citizens participated in the referendum, representing 73.12% of the total electorate. The proposed changes garnered significant support, with 7,954,667 citizens voting in favor, accounting for 87.15% of those who cast a ballot.
Mangystau Region's Voting Breakdown
In the Mangystau region specifically, 345,554 individuals participated in the referendum. Of these, 322,732 voters, or 93.40%, supported the issues put forth in the referendum. However, 9,303 residents chose to vote against the proposed amendments.
Additionally, the region saw 7,844 ballots declared invalid. Another 5,675 ballots, while valid, were not counted. The total number of eligible voters in the Mangystau region was recorded at 444,875 citizens.
