A video circulating on social media has ignited public concern over the exorbitant 25,000 Tenge fee to enter the Kök-Töbe park. The park's administration has stepped forward to clarify the reasons behind this significant price adjustment.

According to Farhat Waliev, a representative of the Kök-Töbe park, a new tariff for private vehicles was implemented starting February 1, 2026. This decision was made with the primary goals of preserving the natural environment of the park and reducing the burden of vehicle traffic.

Waliev highlighted that the presence of parked cars in scenic areas had led to instances of public disorder and even indecent behavior. "As a result, waste, garbage, napkins, and other items that pollute the area are left behind," he stated, emphasizing the need for better management of visitor conduct.

Furthermore, the park administration stressed that reducing the number of vehicles with internal combustion engines is a crucial part of their environmental policy. This initiative aims to improve air quality and minimize the ecological footprint of the popular tourist destination.

The revenue generated from the new tariff is earmarked for specific purposes, including the maintenance and improvement of the park's infrastructure and environmental conservation efforts.

Alternative Access and Discounts

For visitors seeking more affordable options, the administration pointed out several alternative ways to reach the summit. These include walking the "Health Path," taking the cable car, or using minibusses. Discounts and special offers are available for these modes of transport on weekdays.

Future Price Considerations

Looking ahead, a representative from Kök-Töbe park mentioned that they are considering a potential increase in the tariff to up to 30,000 Tenge. This move is intended to further enhance the sense of responsibility towards the preservation of the site.

For context, the parking fee at Kök-Töbe was 7,000 Tenge in 2023.
