This assembly is being organized in accordance with Decree No. 912, issued by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 8, 2022. This decree outlines the procedures by which deputies of maslikhats (local representative bodies) in regions, cities of republican significance, and the capital are authorized to give their agreement for the appointment of regional, city, or capital governors.

Previous Governor's New Role

The former governor of Kyzylorda region, Nurlan Nalinbaev, who held the position from April 2022 until May 2026, has recently been appointed as the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This promotion necessitates the selection of a successor for the regional leadership role.

Additionally, on May 5th, a decree from the Head of State saw Roman Sklyar appointed as the Head of the Presidential Administration, leading to the release of the former First Deputy from his previous duties.
