Deputies of the Kyzylorda Regional Maslikhat are set to convene for a crucial session to decide on the appointment of a new regional governor. The meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, May 8th, at 9:00 AM in Kyzylorda city.
Key Decision-Making Session
The primary agenda for the deputies will be to provide their consent for the new governor's appointment. Registration for the attending deputies will commence at 8:00 AM on the day of the meeting.
Legal Framework for Appointment
This assembly is being organized in accordance with Decree No. 912, issued by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on June 8, 2022. This decree outlines the procedures by which deputies of maslikhats (local representative bodies) in regions, cities of republican significance, and the capital are authorized to give their agreement for the appointment of regional, city, or capital governors.
Previous Governor's New Role
The former governor of Kyzylorda region, Nurlan Nalinbaev, who held the position from April 2022 until May 2026, has recently been appointed as the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This promotion necessitates the selection of a successor for the regional leadership role.
