Life Sentence Inmates Awaiting Transfer from Atyrau Pre-Trial Detention Center
Two individuals sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Yana Legkodimova are still being held in a pre-trial detention center in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. Their transfer to a correctional facility has not yet commenced.
Transfer Logistics Underway
The delay in relocating Altynbek Katimov and Rizuan Kairzhanov stems from the need for specialized security. According to Azamat Izutleyev, head of the Penitentiary System Department for the Atyrau region, a request has been made to the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan for a special unit to handle the transfer.
Special Unit Required for Relocation
The inmates will only be dispatched to their designated correctional facilities once this specialized National Guard unit is deployed. The exact timeline for this operation remains uncertain.
Mother's Inquiry
Previously, Galina Legkodimova, the mother of the victim, had formally inquired with the Committee for the Criminal Executive System, seeking clarification on when the inmates would be moved.
