Renowned Kazakh poet and State Prize laureate Marfugha Aitkhozhina has shared recollections of former President Nursultan Nazarbayev in a recent interview. The poet spoke about her contemporaries who composed verses praising the former head of state during his tenure.

According to Aitkhozhina, some creative individuals at the time showed exceptional respect for Nazarbayev, penning poems in his honor. The poet recalled instances where some individuals even declared, "You are our sun in the sky."

"There were even women who told Nazarbayev, 'You are our sun in the sky.' There is no need to name them," the poet stated during the interview.

Aitkhozhina contextualized these actions within the circumstances of that era, expressing her candid views without hesitation. She emphasized her consistent effort to speak the truth throughout her poetic career.
