Powerful Winds Damage 25 Structures, Cause Outages in Jambyl Region
A powerful storm swept through the T. Ryskulov district of Jambyl region on February 21st, with wind speeds reaching up to 30 meters per second. The severe weather caused significant damage, tearing off the roofs of 25 structures across seven settlements.
Extensive Roof Damage and Infrastructure Disruptions
Among the damaged buildings, eight were identified as social facilities, highlighting the impact on community infrastructure. The storm's fury also led to widespread service disruptions. Electricity outages were reported in 13 settlements, while three villages experienced temporary interruptions in their gas supply.
Restoration Efforts Underway
Emergency crews have been mobilized to address the damage. Nine brıgad (brigades) are actively working to restore electricity and gas services to the affected areas. As of now, there are no reports of casualties or injuries resulting from the storm. Damage assessment teams are on the ground, evaluating the extent of the destruction to the affected structures.
Official Response and Coordination
In response to the crisis, the First Deputy Governor of Jambyl region, Nurzhan Kalenderov, has been dispatched to the district to oversee the restoration efforts and assess the situation. Communal services are operating on an enhanced schedule to expedite repairs and minimize the impact on residents.
