Authorities are nearing the final stages of extraditing suspects from Indonesia in connection with the brutal double murder of a retired couple in the Atyrau region. The case, which has garnered significant attention, involves the disappearance and subsequent deaths of Nauryz and Meiramgul.

Progress on Extradition

The extradition process for the individuals apprehended in Indonesia is nearing its conclusion, according to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Sanjar Adilov. He stated that Kazakh investigators, in collaboration with Interpol, have undertaken extensive work to facilitate the return of the suspects.

Ongoing Search and Investigation

While the extradition is progressing, the search for Nauryz and Meiramgul continues, with a special task force operating in the Atyrau region. The Deputy Minister confirmed that the detained individuals are expected to be brought back to Kazakhstan shortly.

Key Suspect Identified

Further details revealed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicate that the wife of the primary suspect, who is also the daughter of the deceased pensioners, was among those reported missing. She has now been granted suspect status and is being processed for extradition alongside her husband.
