Tragic DUI Crash in Arys Claims Lives of Two Children and Pregnant Woman

A devastating road accident in the city of Arys, Turkistan region, has resulted in the tragic deaths of two young children and a pregnant woman. The incident occurred when a local school teacher, reportedly driving under the influence of alcohol at high speed, crashed through a fence and struck a group of people.

The driver fled the scene but has since been apprehended by police. The victims were members of two neighboring families. The pregnant woman, who died at the scene, was a mother of three. Also killed were a five-year-old girl and a young boy. Two other individuals, a 30-year-old woman and her one-and-a-half-year-old infant, sustained severe injuries and are hospitalized.

A Night of Horror Unfolds

The horrific accident unfolded in front of children playing on the street. Witnesses described the impact as so forceful that people were thrown in various directions. Gani Aidarov, a relative of one of the deceased, recounted the tragic moments with deep emotion.

"Two women – my relative and our neighbor – were sitting there. As they were talking, the children called out, and just as the woman was about to stand up, the car hit them. Her hand was broken. We lost our son and daughter-in-law. Our neighbor's five-year-old daughter also died. Our little baby was found under the ground after the car's impact. My daughter-in-law was thrown towards the yard," Aidarov said, his voice filled with grief.

A Devastated Family's Plea

For the surviving family members, the fate of the orphaned children presents the most profound challenge. Agaisha Manatova, the mother-in-law of the woman who died, expressed her helplessness in comforting the grieving children.

"Every day the children ask, 'Where is our mother?' These words tear my heart apart. What answer can I give them? Where can I find a mother for them? Now, I can only pray for them to grow up happy and be spared from life's hardships," she said.

Medical Care and Ongoing Investigation

Medical professionals are currently fighting to save the lives of those injured. The 30-year-old woman is being treated in the surgical department of the district hospital, while doctors at the regional level are battling to save her infant's life.

Dr. Aidar Akbarov from the district hospital provided details on the condition and injuries of the victims. "The condition of the 30-year-old patient is assessed as moderately severe. She was admitted to the surgical department with a diagnosis of a closed fracture of the right knee joint and concussion. Necessary medical assistance has been provided. The second patient is a one-and-a-half-year-old child. He arrived in critical condition and was admitted to the intensive care unit. He was diagnosed with a concussion, multiple closed fractures of the right ribs, and a fractured femur. The child has now been transferred to the regional children's hospital," Akbarov shared.

Suspect Apprehended

The Turkistan region police swiftly identified and apprehended the driver who fled the scene after the accident. It was determined that the woman was driving a JAC-brand vehicle while intoxicated.

The department issued an official statement regarding the arrest: "Police officers immediately arrived at the scene. As a result of operational search activities, the suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility," reported the regional police department.

Criminal Case Initiated

A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the fatal road accident. An investigative team is conducting a comprehensive, thorough, and objective investigation into all circumstances of the incident. Relatives of the deceased have demanded maximum punishment and are not inclined to forgive the perpetrator who destroyed the lives of two families. The police will make the appropriate procedural decision based on the outcome of the investigation.
