Renowned Kazakh pop artist Kairat Tuntekov has opened up about his personal life and family، explaining for the first time why he chooses to keep them away from the public eye. In a candid interview on the "1001 Nights" program، Tuntekov shared his motivations for maintaining this privacy.

Belief in the Evil Eye

The primary reason، according to the singer، stems from his belief in the concept of the "evil eye" or 'til-koz' in Kazakh. He expressed a strong reluctance to showcase his family، believing that public exposure could invite negative energy or misfortune.

"I don't want to show my family because I believe in the evil eye،" Tuntekov stated. "I've experienced similar situations myself. There was a time I fell and couldn't walk the next day." This personal experience has reinforced his cautious approach to sharing details about his private life.

Kairat Tuntekov's Career Milestones

Kairat Tuntekov is a well-known figure in Kazakh pop music، having won the second season of the "SuperStar KZ" project. Born on February 14، 1986، in Shymkent، he showed an early aptitude for music، singing in his school choir from a young age.

His talent was recognized early، winning the Grand Prix at the "Boztorghai" international competition at just 14. His victory in "SuperStar KZ" in 2005 propelled him to national fame. Throughout his career، he has collaborated with producer Dinara Adam، releasing his first music video "Baby،" and participated in the "Two Stars" project with actress Linda Nigmatullina، securing second place.

Further achievements include a fourth-place finish and a special "Ideal Artist" award at the "New Wave" competition in Jurmala in 2010. Tuntekov also pursued formal education in vocal performance at the T. Zhurgenov Art Academy. Despite facing a legal issue in 2012 following a car accident، which resulted in a fine and temporary travel restrictions، Kairat Tuntekov has maintained a significant presence in the Kazakh music scene.
