Six talented Kazakh boxers have secured their spots in the next rounds of the prestigious Strandzha Cup، currently underway in Sofia، Bulgaria. This significant achievement marks their continued participation in one of Europe's most historic sporting events.
Kazakh Contingent Pushes Forward
In the daytime sessions، several Kazakh athletes demonstrated strong performances. Among those advancing are Zhanara Orakbayeva (51 kg)، Madina Nurshayeva (70 kg)، Anel Sakysh (54 kg)، Elina Bazarova (54 kg)، Zhaina Shekerbekova (54 kg)، and Baglan Kenzhebek (55 kg). These athletes will continue to compete for top honors.

On Ring A، Abdikarim Abdygalym (65 kg)، Ilya Kalinin (65 kg)، Ertugan Zeynullinov (65 kg)، and Daulet Tolemissov (90 kg) will defend Kazakhstan's colors. Meanwhile، on Ring B، Sultanbek Aibaruly (85 kg)، Bekzat Tanatar (85 kg)، and Nurmagamed Yusupov (90 kg) will showcase their skills.

A total of 39 Kazakh boxers are participating in this year's Strandzha Cup. This marks the 77th edition of the tournament، solidifying its status as a cornerstone of European boxing. Kazakhstan has a rich history at this event، having previously secured 23 gold، 34 silver، and 45 bronze medals.
The Kazakh team first competed in the Strandzha Cup in 1994، with Valeriy Kuzmentsov winning a silver medal in the 75 kg category. A significant milestone was achieved in 2005 when Serik Sapiyev became the first Kazakh champion in the 60 kg division. In the women's category، Valentina Khalzova has emerged victorious twice، while Ertugan Zeynullinov has the opportunity to become a two-time champion this year.
