Air Quality Alert Issued for Aktobe and Oral Residents

Residents of Aktobe and Oral are advised to be aware of a potential decline in air quality on Saturday, May 23rd. The national weather service, Kazhydromet, has issued a warning indicating unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in both cities.

Understanding Unfavorable Meteorological Conditions

These conditions, often referred to as unfavorable meteorological conditions (NMG), are a combination of short-term weather factors that can lead to increased air pollution. They include phenomena like calm winds, light breezes, fog, and temperature inversions, which can trap harmful substances in the lower atmosphere.

Weather Forecasts for the Affected Cities

Despite the air quality warning, the forecast for Aktobe on Saturday predicts clear skies with a light, variable wind of 1-6 m/s. Temperatures are expected to range from a mild 5-7 degrees Celsius overnight to a warmer 24-26 degrees Celsius during the day.

In Oral, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy with no precipitation. Winds will blow from the east at 2-7 m/s. Overnight temperatures are forecast between 11-13 degrees Celsius, rising to 25-27 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.

This alert serves as a reminder for citizens to stay informed about local air quality, especially during periods of specific weather patterns.
