Singer Ali Okapov, son of the celebrated Roza Rymbaeva, has opened up about significant personal challenges his family faced, including why he had to change his surname three times.

Okapov revealed in an interview that after the death of his father, the prominent singer Taskyn Okapov, his family encountered a period of extreme difficulty. This led to a decision to alter his and his brother's surnames to protect them.

Family Protection and Surname Changes

Initially, Ali Okapov was born with the surname Okapov. However, following his father's passing, his mother, Roza Rymbaeva, made the difficult decision to change the surnames of both Ali and his brother, Madi, to Rymbaev. This was done as a protective measure during a tumultuous time.

"After our father passed away, we went through very difficult circumstances in our lives. At that time, our mother, to protect us, changed the surnames of both Madi and me to Rymbaev. I don't want to talk about what those circumstances were. I don't have the right to make them public," Ali Okapov stated.

Two Brothers, Two Surnames

Later, as the situation stabilized, Ali Okapov decided to revert his surname back to Okapov. His brother, Madi, however, continued to use the Rymbaev surname. This means the two brothers now carry two different, well-known family names.

This personal revelation sheds light on the profound impact family events can have and the lengths parents will go to ensure their children's safety and well-being.
