Chevron Veteran Steve Conner Departs Tengizchevroil Leadership

Significant leadership changes are on the horizon at Tengizchevroil (TCO), Kazakhstan's largest oil producer. Steve Conner, who has held the crucial positions of General Manager of Production and Deputy General Director, is set to depart the company soon.

A Veteran's Departure

Conner has been a key figure in TCO's management since the summer of 2022. His tenure at TCO is part of an extensive career spanning over 40 years with Chevron, where he began his journey in 1984.

Extensive International Experience

Before his role in Kazakhstan, Conner amassed over a decade of experience leading major projects across Thailand, Latin America, the United States, and the United Kingdom. His most recent significant role prior to TCO was managing Chevron's operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

Recognition for Contributions

The Kazakhstan Oil & Gas Council (PetroCouncil) has expressed its gratitude to Conner for his contributions. "We thank Steve Conner for his contribution to the development of production at the Tengiz project, as well as for his active and constructive interaction with industry associations on issues of local content development," the council stated.

The identity of Steve Conner's successor in the role of TCO Deputy General Director has not yet been officially announced.
