Kazakh Man Dies After Month in Thai ICU, Return to Homeland
A 36-year-old resident of Kostanay, Alexey Vivtonenko, has passed away after spending a month in intensive care in Thailand and subsequently returning to Kazakhstan.
Vivtonenko fell seriously ill during a vacation in Thailand, battling for his life for several months. Doctors diagnosed him with severe pancreatitis, kidney, and respiratory failure. His condition later worsened with sepsis, and inflammation of the kidneys and lungs.
Intensive Care and Costly Treatment
The Kazakhstani spent nearly a month in the intensive care unit. According to his relatives, the cost of treatment in Thailand was extremely high. His family worked for a month to bring Alexey back to his home country, finally returning on April 18.
Public Support and Tragic Outcome
Thousands of people followed Alexey's fate, with many offering support to his family and helping to raise funds for his treatment and transportation. Despite the efforts of doctors and a prolonged struggle, Alexey passed away yesterday.
