Kazakhstan's Education Minister Clarifies Private School Regulations
Kazakhstan's Minister of Education, Zhyldyz Suleimenova, has provided clarity on pressing issues surrounding private schools, addressing widespread concerns that have emerged on social media. The minister stressed that regardless of their ownership structure, all educational institutions must operate in strict accordance with the law.
Prioritizing Legal Compliance and Quality
Minister Suleimenova highlighted the principle of "Law and Order" advocated by the head of state. In line with this, the Ministry of Education is prioritizing the identification and support of schools that meticulously follow legal requirements and deliver high-quality education.
Results of Private School Audits
In 2023, private schools underwent a digitalization process, a similar initiative that is now being extended to state schools. These audits uncovered several violations of legal regulations.
Schools found to be in breach of these regulations will no longer receive state orders. Conversely, institutions that meet all requirements and employ qualified educators will be permitted to continue their operations.
A Warning to Intermediaries
The minister also issued a direct warning to individuals offering intermediary services related to private schools. She clarified that all official information and explanatory work concerning these matters will be exclusively handled through the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, the Committee for Secondary Education, and local education departments.
