Over 400 Families Relocate to North Kazakhstan with Government Support

More than 400 families have relocated to the North Kazakhstan region this year, seeking new opportunities. These families are primarily moving from regions with a surplus of labor, including the Turkestan and Almaty regions, as well as the cities of Shymkent and Astana.

Government Assistance for Relocation

To facilitate this move, relocated individuals will receive support in securing employment and housing. A key component of this assistance is the provision of an economic mobility certificate, which can be used towards purchasing a home. This year, the value of this certificate has been increased to up to 7,028,000 tenge.

The Kornilov family, who moved from Taldykorgan to Petropavl, is one example of how this support is being utilized. They successfully purchased a three-room apartment using the certificate combined with a mortgage.

Financial and Housing Support Details

The government has outlined several support measures for citizens moving to the northern regions. Each family member is eligible for a one-time payment of 70 MCI (Monthly Calculation Index), which exceeds 300,000 tenge this year. Additionally, assistance is provided for rent and utility payments.

According to Nurlan Bibulaev, head of the North Kazakhstan Center for Labor Mobility, the region is expected to receive 800 families, totaling 2,820 people, from the southern regions by the beginning of 2026, along with 65 ethnic Kazakh families. Currently, 401 families and 37 ethnic Kazakh families have already settled in the region.

Last year, over two thousand people moved to the region, and applications from individuals wishing to relocate to the North Kazakhstan region are still being accepted.
