Shymkent Woman Arrested for Defrauding Buyers with Cheap iPhone 17 Pro Max Offers

Authorities in Shymkent have apprehended a woman suspected of orchestrating an online scam, defrauding several individuals by advertising new iPhone 17 Pro Max models at significantly reduced prices. The suspect allegedly disappeared after receiving payments, leaving buyers without their promised devices.

The Scam Unfolds

According to police reports, the suspect posted advertisements on a popular mobile application, offering high-end smartphones at suspiciously low prices. Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro Max was advertised for just 45,000 tenge, a price considerably lower than its market value.

Victim's Experience

One resident of Shymkent, enticed by the offer, contacted the seller and transferred the requested amount. However, after receiving the payment, the woman became unreachable, and the buyer never received the smartphone.

Investigation Underway

Currently, it has been determined that the accused woman is linked to at least four similar fraudulent incidents within the Shymkent region. Pre-trial investigations are being conducted for all reported cases.
