Trump Shares Footage of Strikes on Tehran Amid Escalating Tensions

US President Donald Trump has shared video footage appearing to depict substantial nighttime strikes on Iran's capital, Tehran. The release comes amid heightened tensions and ongoing military actions in the region.

Trump posted the video on his social media platform, Truth Social, accompanied by a strong statement. He asserted that "many military leaders of Iran, who were running Iran poorly and foolishly, were eliminated in this massive strike on Tehran!"

Escalating Conflict

The United States and Israel have been conducting aerial assaults on Iran since February 28. Reports indicate that these strikes have resulted in the deaths of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with several high-ranking officials and members of the security forces.

In response, Iran has reportedly been targeting Israel and countries in the Persian Gulf with missiles and drones. According to the Islamic Republic, these attacks are aimed at American military bases in the region. Additionally, oil storage facilities and tankers in several Persian Gulf nations have also been impacted by Iranian strikes.

US Casualties Reported

Citing Pentagon data, media reports indicate that 365 American service members have been injured since the commencement of what is being called "Operation Epic Thunder." This figure includes 247 Army personnel, 63 Marines, 19 sailors, and 36 airmen.

The number of fatalities has reached 13: seven died from combat operations, six died from an Iranian airstrike in Kuwait, and one succumbed to injuries sustained in Saudi Arabia. It remains unclear if this total includes the crews of American military aircraft shot down or hit by Iranian forces on April 3.

Earlier, on Saturday, Trump issued a stark warning via Truth Social, giving Iran 48 hours to negotiate or face the "hell" of being shut out of the Strait of Hormuz. He reminded Tehran of a previous ten-day ultimatum to comply with these demands. Iran had previously stated its capability to blockade the Strait of Hormuz for ships belonging to the United States, Israel, and their allies for an extended period.
