Authorities in Ekibastuz, Pavlodar region, are investigating a grim discovery after two bodies were found inside a private residence. Preliminary findings suggest one individual may have been deceased for as long as two years, while the other for several months.

Medical Professionals Raise Alarm

The unsettling situation came to light when medical personnel expressed concern over a patient who had not attended appointments for an extended period. This information was subsequently passed on to the relevant authorities, initiating an investigation.

Neighbors Recount Isolation

Neighbors described the family as once being sociable and engaged with the community. However, in recent times, the female homeowner reportedly became increasingly reclusive, refusing visitors. "They were a normal family, we used to visit each other's homes. Lately, she stopped letting anyone in at all. We'd ask about her husband, about our brother Sacha, whom we hadn't seen in a long time, but she wouldn't say anything. We barely recognized her recently," shared a neighbor, Omirtay Sharipzhanov.

Even a relative, who rented a house next door, was unaware of the unfolding tragedy, indicating a complete breakdown in communication.

Child's Condition and Placement

A six-year-old girl, the granddaughter of the homeowner, was found in the residence and has since undergone medical examinations at the Maikain hospital. Her condition is reported as stable, with support from medical staff and a child psychologist. Plans are in place to transfer her to the Ekibastuz Children's Support Center once all necessary procedures are completed.

The homeowner has been taken to a psychiatric hospital for an assessment of her condition.

Police Investigation Underway

The regional Police Department has confirmed that a criminal case has been initiated. Necessary investigative actions are currently being conducted to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding this deeply concerning incident.
