Kazakhstanis in UAE and Qatar Share Updates Amidst Abu Dhabi Explosions

Following explosions in Abu Dhabi on the morning of February 28th, amidst heightened regional tensions, Kazakhstanis living in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have shared their experiences and observations of the local situation.

Calm Amidst Reports in Dubai

Mirass, a student pursuing education and working in Dubai, reported that the situation in the city remains calm. He noted that the events in the UAE are unfolding without the widespread panic suggested by some media reports. However, he did mention hearing about the closure of the airport, with the explosions themselves occurring in Abu Dhabi.

Travel Disruptions at Dubai Airport

Another witness at Dubai Airport confirmed that while flights are experiencing delays, the overall situation is stable. Their own flight was postponed by two hours. Passengers are currently waiting as the airport premises are temporarily inaccessible. Arrangements have been made to provide hot meals from a local McDonald's for those affected.

Later, the Dubai Airport administration announced a temporary suspension of flight services due to the closure of the airspace in the region.

Tourists in Qatar Receive Support

Separately, tour operator Roza Yesenkulova is assisting a group of five tourists from Kazakhstan who are currently in Qatar. The group is at the airport, and the agency is providing them with consultation and support, including assistance with hotel accommodations.

The explosions in Abu Dhabi on February 28th are reportedly linked to actions taken by Iran in response to attacks by the United States and Israel.
