A controversial video circulating on social media has brought to light allegations of female students being compelled to clean men's rooms and restrooms at the dormitory of the Turkestan Industrial-Technical College. The incident has raised serious concerns about the treatment of students within the educational institution.

Hostel Commandant's Pressure Tactics

The video captures a heated exchange where the hostel commandant can be heard shouting at the female students. In the footage, the commandant is heard saying, "You don't clean every day. The commission is coming tomorrow, what's wrong with cleaning the room? Aren't you a girl?" The commandant allegedly pressured the students to clean the men's facilities, threatening them with expulsion from the dormitory if they refused.

One student reportedly responded, "I only clean the room I live in. Why should we clean the boys' rooms? Let the boys clean them when they come." This exchange highlights the students' resistance to the alleged demands.

Official Response and Investigation

In response to the public outcry, the Turkestan Regional Education Department has announced that the situation is under their control and a special commission has been established to investigate the matter. The college reportedly has 1072 students, with 80 residing in the dormitory.

According to the Education Department, the incident occurred between February 23-25, coinciding with a regional sports competition. It is stated that participants of this event needed to be accommodated in the dormitory, leading to a need for cleaning vacant rooms. The department claims that students, including the girls, were verbally asked for assistance with cleaning these rooms, as the male students were temporarily unavailable. The department characterized the situation as a misunderstanding.

Currently, explanatory work is being carried out with the students and their parents. The department has assured that the rights and safety of the students will be ensured, and appropriate measures will be taken against responsible individuals in accordance with the law.
