Two Children's Bodies Found in Atyrau Region as Investigation Continues

A grim discovery has been made in the Atyrau region of Kazakhstan as authorities searching for a missing family have found the bodies of two children. The tragic find adds a somber layer to the ongoing investigation into the family's disappearance.

Bodies Discovered at Former Rental Property

The victims have been identified as Nauryz and Miramgul, children of residents from the village of Zhangeldin. Their remains were found buried in the yard of a house previously rented by the primary suspect, Sultan Sarsemaliev, and his wife, Akbayan.

Suspect Confesses to Murders

Sultan Sarsemaliev has reportedly confessed to the murders of the two children. He allegedly revealed that the bodies were buried at the former rental property in the "Geolog" microdistrict. Investigators acted on this information, leading to the recovery of the children's remains.

Investigation Expands to Four Deaths

The investigation now centers on Sultan Sarsemaliev as a suspect in the deaths of four individuals. Previously, the bodies of Akbayan's parents were discovered in a collapsed shed at their own home. Akbayan herself is also being considered a suspect, though the specific charges against her are not yet clear.

International Manhunt and Arrest

Sarsemaliev, 29, was previously the subject of an Interpol "red notice" for the murders of two people. He was apprehended on February 24th at a guesthouse in the village of Senaru, Indonesia. The arrest was a collaborative effort with the international division of the Indonesian police.
