A fire broke out in a cafe in Almaty's Zhetysu district late at night, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Firefighters arrived to find the establishment engulfed in flames, but managed to contain the blaze.

Preventing a Catastrophe

Upon arrival at the scene on Degtyarev Street, rescuers immediately connected fire engines to nearby hydrants to ensure a continuous water supply. Crucially, measures were taken to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. These rapid actions were instrumental in extinguishing the fire.

Hazardous Gas Cylinders Removed

During the firefighting operation, a critical step involved the removal of five gas cylinders from the burning cafe. This action successfully averted the risk of a dangerous explosion and further damage. As a precautionary measure, two residents from a neighboring house were safely evacuated.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. This incident follows a similar event in Astana where nine gas cylinders were removed from a fire scene.
