Almaty Store 'Raksa' Temporarily Closed for Selling Alcohol at Night

The 'Raksa' grocery store in Almaty has had its operations temporarily suspended following a court decision. The closure comes after the establishment was found to be in violation of regulations concerning the sale of alcoholic beverages.

Resident Complaints Lead to Action

This is not the first time 'Raksa' has faced scrutiny. Residents had previously lodged complaints in 2022 regarding the store's practice of selling alcohol during nighttime hours. At that time, the city's Akim (Mayor), Yerbolat Dosayev, had ordered an inspection of the store's alcohol sales license.

Court Orders Suspension of Operations

According to information from the police department, the store's activities have now been temporarily halted by a court order. The establishment violated legislation pertaining to the sale of alcoholic products. As a result, the goods have been confiscated, and the store's license to sell these items has been revoked.

Enforcing the Law for All

Zhanibek Shynasilov, the head of the district police department, emphasized that violations of the law will have consequences. He stated that the practice of suspending the operations of commercial establishments is being applied and will continue to be enforced. "The law is the same for everyone, and its requirements cannot be ignored," Shynasilov remarked.

This action underscores the commitment to enforcing regulations that govern the sale of alcohol, particularly concerning restricted hours, to ensure public order and compliance with legal statutes.
