The Kazakh language has made a historic debut as an official working language at the Asia-Pacific Linguistics Olympiad (APLO-2026). This landmark achievement signifies a crucial step in integrating the state language into the global academic sphere.

Global Recognition for the Kazakh Language

For the first time in the history of APLO-2026, assignments and official decisions were published in the Kazakh language. This move by the organizers, alongside other world languages, underscores the growing international standing of the Kazakh language.

The prestigious competition attracted approximately 300 talented students from Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and other countries in the region. Experts view this development as a strong validation of Kazakh's potential as a medium for international academic communication.

Kazakhstan Team's Strong Performance

This year marked Kazakhstan's third participation in the APLO. The national team achieved remarkable success, with 8 students securing a full set of medals. Four other team members were awarded certificates of distinction.

In the overall team standings, Kazakhstan secured a solid 8th place among the top countries in the Asia-Pacific region, demonstrating the high caliber of its young linguists.
