Kazakhstan Private Schools to Receive State Funding Through New Mechanism
Kazakhstan has finalized a new mechanism to channel state funding to private schools, a move that promises significant financial support for the non-governmental education sector. Education Minister Zhyldyz Suleimenova announced the breakthrough, detailing how private institutions will now access state educational orders.
Streamlined Funding Process
The new procedure, developed jointly by the Ministries of Education and Finance, has been approved by akimats (regional administrations) across all 20 regions of Kazakhstan and is currently undergoing official registration. This collaborative effort ensures a unified approach to supporting private education nationwide.
How Funds Will Be Distributed
Under the new system, funds will initially be directed to local executive bodies. These akimats will then transfer the money to the Financial Center, which will act as the operator responsible for distributing the state order among private educational institutions. Minister Suleimenova emphasized that this process ensures transparency and efficient allocation of resources.
Key Details of the Initiative
"I am pleased to share good news with the founders, educators, parents, and representatives of private schools! A joint order on the placement of state orders in private schools has been signed. The document, developed by the Ministers of Finance and Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been supported by the akimats of all 20 regions," stated Minister Suleimenova. She further explained, "As this is the funding of local executive bodies, the akimats will transfer it to the Financial Center, which will be the operator for placing state orders in private schools."
Organizational Work Completed
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that all organizational aspects of this initiative are complete, addressing key challenges previously faced by private schools. Moving forward, the Ministry will coordinate its interactions with private educational institutions through the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
This development marks a significant step in strengthening the private education sector in Kazakhstan, ensuring greater access to quality education through public-private partnerships.
