Authorities in the East Kazakhstan region have apprehended two men following a violent assault on a police officer in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The incident, which occurred on March 22, saw the officer's service weapon forcibly taken.

Assault During Routine Call

The confrontation took place on Sagadat Nurmagambetov Street. Police were initially dispatched after a young person reported aggressive behavior from two unknown individuals. Upon arrival, the responding patrol officer encountered the men, who refused to comply with lawful demands and subsequently attacked the officer.

Officer Injured, Weapon Recovered

According to reports, the two intoxicated residents disregarded the officer's instructions and resorted to physical violence. Although the assailants attempted to flee the scene, law enforcement quickly identified and detained them. The stolen service weapon was recovered from the suspects. Both individuals are currently being held in a temporary detention facility.

Investigation Underway

The police officer involved sustained injuries during the attack and is receiving medical treatment. His condition is reported as stable. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident, focusing on the use of violence against a representative of authority in connection with the performance of their official duties.
