Turkistan Shooting Suspects Apprehended Near Uzbekistan Border

A violent incident unfolded in the Turkistan region where two suspects were apprehended near the border with Uzbekistan following a shooting that left an 18-year-old man injured. The motive for the attack is believed to be a dispute over a woman.

The Attack

The incident occurred late at night. According to the victim's father, Bakhramzhan Shukurov, his 18-year-old son, Salahaddin, was invited to a meeting by local youths. The father accompanied his son to the meeting, only to be surrounded by a group of unknown individuals who began to exert pressure.

"About 10-15 people gathered. Without a word, they surrounded me. Then they took something out of a car. I thought it was a club, but it turned out to be a pistol," Shukurov recounted. "They shot at me, but I managed to duck. The second shot hit my son in the abdomen."

Suspects Detained

The perpetrators were apprehended by a special unit at 5:30 AM as they attempted to cross into Uzbekistan. Shukurov expressed dismay that the parents of the accused have not even inquired about their children's well-being.

Victim's Condition

The Turkistan Regional Health Department confirmed that the injured young man sustained a non-penetrating wound. After receiving necessary medical attention, the patient was discharged and placed under outpatient observation.

Motive and Concerns

The victim's family alleges that the conflict stemmed from an engagement dispute involving Salahaddin's fiancée. They also voiced concerns that the suspects might evade justice, citing previous instances where individuals involved in shootings were not held accountable.
