20 People Illegally Registered at One-Room Apartment in Astana
Astana authorities have uncovered a startling case of illegal registration, where 20 people were found to be registered at a single one-room apartment. This discovery was made during a city-wide inspection aimed at identifying and rectifying unlawful residency and registration practices.
Widespread Registration Irregularities
During a recent two-day sweep, police identified approximately 30 violations related to housing registration. Among the most egregious was a single apartment where 20 individuals were officially registered. However, investigations revealed that none of these individuals actually resided at the address.
Motivation Behind Illegal Registrations
Law enforcement officials noted that such illegal registrations are often carried out for financial gain, with property owners potentially receiving monetary compensation for registering individuals who do not live there. Police emphasized that these actions carry legal consequences.
Broader Inspection Findings
The inspection also revealed over 130 individuals residing in the city without proper registration. Furthermore, approximately 300 citizens were removed from the registry due to discrepancies between their registered address and actual place of residence.
Previous Incidents
This is not the first instance of such irregularities in Astana. Previously, a resident was found to have registered an astonishing 3,420 people at their apartment within a single year, underscoring a persistent problem with the city's registration system.
